We gathered together at Trinity Lutheran Church in Downtown Orlando to share the love of God and Jesus Christ with each other, to offer hope, to extend the grace of Jesus Christ, and to stand on His truth. A video recording of the entire service is available here.

Amazing Grace

Written by a slave trader who became a firm opponent of slavery, by the grace of God. It is for that reason, the power of God to change hearts and transform lives, that we are celebrating when we sing Amazing Grace.

Amazing grace—how sweet the sound—
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see!

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come;
His grace has brought me safe thus far,
His grace will lead me home.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail
And mortal life shall cease,
Amazing grace shall then prevail
In heaven’s joy and peace.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Psalm 23

 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[c]
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

Prayer Shawls and Quilts

Handmade quilts and shawls were donated by Our Redeember Lutheran Church‘s “Piece Makers” ministry in Ocala, Florida.  Their pastors, Rev. Joe Adams and Rev. Josh Pettit, drove them down from Ocala to be sure they could be given out at the vigil.  They were made specifically for those going through something difficult, that God would bring peace to them, not even knowing the circumstances.
