Friendship is all about relationships!
Friendship is all about Jesus!
IT IS GOD’S PLAN TO USE US FOR CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH JESUS!
The number one reason people begin coming to church is because a family member or friend invited them! Why? Because there is a bridge of TRUST. Who are the friends and family on your “trust” list who aren’t connected to a church family? Name them! Write down their names on a piece of paper.
There are people you know who are in the midst of a crisis and they will respond to a bridge of HOPE. Do you have a friend going through a divorce? A friend who has lost a loved one or a job? A friend worried about their kids, their health, where their next meal will come from? People you know who need HOPE right now are particularly open to an invitation, because they are looking for hope in their lives. Who is on your “hope” list; people that are struggling with real life issues that need the hope of Christ? Name them! Write down their names on a piece of paper.
There are people in your lives who once had a connection with a church family. To most of these people, FAITH matters! These people already know that faith in Jesus matters, even if they are not active in church right now! Who do you know who has been away from a church family for a while? Who is on your “faith” list? (These are Lutherans, Methodists, Baptists, etc. but they aren’t going to church – ask them!) Name them! Write down those names too.
Bringing people ONE STEP CLOSER to Jesus, one person at a time, really, really matters! So…
Bring the people on your TRUST list. Bring the people on your HOPE list. Bring the people on your FAITH list.
And most important, this week, PRAY for all the people you are inviting.
GOD IS AT WORK PREPARING YOU and
PREPARING THE PEOPLE ON YOUR LISTS!
- Pray for your potential Guests.
- Pray for the opportunity to arise where you can invite them to Church.
- Pray for awareness of their need.
- Pray for awareness of the opportunity.
- Pray for the courage to invite them to church.
- Pray for favor that they would accept the invitation.
- Pray they would follow through and come.
- Pray that the Trinity family would make them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Pray that the message and worship would be personally relevant, meaningful and inspiring.
- Pray that they would hear the message and grow ONE STEP CLOSER TO JESUS!
Last but not least, SET A PERSONAL GOAL. Write down the number of people you are inviting to worship with you this weekend?
