Our Epiphany Sermon series shifts this week from telling who Jesus is to what He says. We being the Sermon on the Mount.
The first week will be in the Beatitudes, Jesus proclaiming blessings upon people.
Then at our joint worship service on February 16th, we will hear Jesus declare us the light of the world. That service wraps up National Lutheran Schools Week, the theme of which is “Shine His Light,” based on our Gospel reading for the day. (Actually being the light of the world has been the theme all year at TLS! Amazing how this all worked out!)
The third week of the series Jesus calls us to perfection. Look out, as it turns out, we can’t even come close to living lives as He expects. But don’t worry, it’s when we realize our failures that Jesus truly shows us who He is and what He’s come to say and do.
After all of this, the final week of the Epiphany season, just before we begin Lent, Jesus gives us just a glimpse of who He truly is…but more on that later.
See you in worship!
