A key component of Trinity’s Children’s Ministry is weekly Sunday School classes for children from four years old through fifth grade. On September 11th the annual “rally day” Sunday School kick off was a super successful & fun filled morning. Over 35 children ages 4-12 partied all morning playing games based on the Bible lessons we are teaching this Fall quarter.
For the finale of this celebration the children participated in a helium balloon release. Every balloon that floated away in the blue sky had a prayer card attached, and a note asking the recipient to let us know where it was found. Because, you just never know how or when God might use us to bless others.
One of our parents/church members was moved by this activity and shared with others online, “Our beloved Trinity Lutheran Church did the most amazing thing today. The Sunday school children tied notes of prayer and kindness to balloons and set them free, so that they could be found by those in need of prayer and kindness. May God bless you and yours on this day of remembrance in America.”
On September 15, Carly’s card was found in Ocoee. The family who found it while walking their dog mailed back a note to let us know. Just this week we learned that Nathalie’s card was received by a lovely woman in Clermont, who found the balloon & card clinging to her rose bushes in front of her home on the same day it was released! She called to tell us she was moved to tears when she read the note signed by a child from Trinity. She wants the children to know, in response to the card, that yes, she does know the Lord, and that not long ago she connected with a local ministry for widows called On Bended Knee which has helped her a great deal. When, by chance, she received this simple card with a message of love and hope and realized it was carried on the wind from a church in Orlando to Clermont in one day, she cried and cried. She said it was “such a blessing.”
We’re saving a spot for you in Sunday School
Trinity Lutheran Church offers the best choice for children ages 4 through 5th grade every Sunday morning at 9:30am.
