Trinity’s Middle School Youth, as part of their Confirmation Retreat, coordinated a servant project to provide care bags to those in need (shampoos, soaps, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush etc).  They collected the items and then bagged them up and prepared them for delivery.

The health care gift bags were delivered to the Orlando Union Rescue Mission Family Center on West Washington Street in Orlando. Sharlene Stanford, Volunteer Services Coordinator, was delighted to receive these much needed health items. It is not unusual for families to move into the Mission with nothing more than a suitcase and these bags will make wonderful welcome gifts!

Trinity Lutheran Church has provided volunteers for the Family Division of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission for Wednesday suppers and is currently looking at new ways to keep involved in this valued community facility. The Orlando Union Rescue Mission is one of Central Florida’s oldest and largest homeless service providers. The Mission provides for immediate physical needs — including food, clothing and shelter – but programs are designed to lead the homeless to permanent independence built upon a personal relationship with Christ. It is a blessing for Trinity’s youth to participate with this Christian ministry.
