Collecting next Weekend: Food and Funds on the Fifth Sunday
Trinity collects donated food funds on every fifth Sunday -- food donations are given to local ministries, and funds go to the Pastor's discretionary fund to assist those in financial crisis. September has five Sundays, so start collecting BOGOs for the September 29/30 collection. This month's recipient of food donations will be The Good Samaritans.

National Night Out
Tuesday evening, October 2, is National Night Out hosted by the Orlando Police Department in support of safe neighborhoods. Trinity will be participating with our Lake Eola Heights neighbors and you're welcome to join us for some fun and connecting with neighbors. Peace Comfort Dog has been invited to come too! Join in some neighborhood fun from 7-9pm on Amelia Ave next to Broadway Methodist.  Local churches, businesses and our neighbors will be there with us.

How are YOU Gifted - Where Can YOU Serve
Trinity's children and youth Sunday morning Bible classes have started out on such a positive note. We've had over 30 in attendance and everyone seems very energized as they gather together to learn about our Savior. In order to keep our promise of having flexibility for our teachers, we still need to find three more teachers for this quarter: VPK-Kindergarten, 1st-2nd Grade, and Youth Bible class. If we are able to form teams of three teachers per class, then each teacher will have an assistant on most of the Sundays that they teach, plus they will be able to take a Sunday off for family events or travel. Remember that we do have training available. If you enjoy sharing the Word of God (and you don't have to be a theologian to do this) and are invested in seeing that the next generations know about the real presence of a loving God in their lives, then this ministry might be just for you.  Please contact Julia Malenke if you have any questions or if you would like to volunteer to teach: jmalenke@trinitydowntown.com

Serving Through Singing
Our Trinity Parish Choir is a small but enthusiastic group of people who have a love for singing to and about God.  The choir exists not to perform or entertain, but to enhance the worship service and hopefully to bring us all one step closer to Jesus through music.  We are working on some beautiful pieces that will be heard over the next few months; however, we need more singers! We realize that due to illness, work schedules, and other life problems, not everyone can attend every practice and every service at which we sing - so, in order to continue singing regularly, we need enough voices to cover all parts when there are absences.  We welcome all voices (and all ages from teens on up), but we especially need sopranos, tenors, and basses. If you enjoy singing, please take a moment to pray about serving God through singing in the choir. We practice from 7:30 - 8:30pm every Wednesday in the sanctuary balcony. To ensure gate access for rehearsals or if you have any questions, please contact Paul at sooster67@yahoo.com or Glenda at whitemice@bellsouth.net.

For those of you who cannot climb the steps to the balcony and/or drive at night and/or just want to sing, how about singing with the First Floor Once-In-A-While Choir? The FFOIAWC will be singing at the 11am service this Sunday, September 16.  We will warm up and practice prior to the service at 10:15am in the middle loggia classroom. We sing right before the Gospel, so you will be able to sit with your family for most of the service. All voices and ages are welcome!

Brass Players
Trinity Brass is just starting to work on music for Reformation. If you play an instrument and have been thinking you might like to join us, please contact Eva at 321-303-7824 or Eva21@aol.com.

LiveUCF
LiveUCF is a ministry partner of Trinity which gathers students from the University of Central Florida as well as other local young people in community with Jesus Christ and by His blessings sends them out to live as His people. LiveUCF seeks to engage all UCF students in loving service to one another in the name of Jesus Christ.

We have an opportunity to support this partner ministry coming up soon at the LiveUCF GALA at Lutheran Haven on Saturday, October 13. The cocktail reception and Silent Auction begin at 6pm with dinner at 7pm. During the evening you will have the chance to hear about our Fall ministries, meet our Board of Directors, and talk with students and leaders. Tickets are available for purchase now. Purchase online at www.LiveUCF.com/gala .  You may contact l_bachmann@bellsouth.net for more details.

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.  In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101). During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers.  For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend call or text us at 407-490-7339 and leave a message. We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know.  Thank you.

Strength & Flexibility
You're welcome to join us on the first and third Mondays of each month for a fitness class at 6:30pm (new start time) in Fellowship Hall. Email Beth at baschu4@bellsouth.net to confirm you're coming. Class starts at 6:30 pm, please arrive by 6:20 pm. Thank you! Bring With You an exercise mat (and block if you have), $5, Comfy clothes, smile and enthusiasm!

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to Pray@TrinityDowntown.com .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
