Senior Pastor Call Committee Update
Your Call Committee has been diligently moving forward with securing a new senior pastor for Trinity. The following is the official Call List after both President Walton and our Circuit Visitor Rev. Ken Green fully vetted the District and congregational nominees:
  • Mark Mueller:  Bethlehem Lutheran Church - Delmar, NY
  • A. Mark Schudde:  Concordia - Conover, NC
  • Kurt Wenzelburger:  Divine Redeemer - Hartland, WI
  • Douglas Kallesen:  FL-GA District Executive Director of Outreach - Orlando, FL

The Call Committee has had the opportunity to research, study, and discuss all of these great candidates and we have once again moved to interview stage.  During the first week of November, we are conducting video interviews with the candidates we wanted to get to know better.  Stay tuned for our next steps and as always, don't hesitate to speak to anyone on the Call Committee if you have questions.

Trinity Shares Christmas
Christmas is less than two months away!  Our ninth annual Trinity Shares Christmas tree is in the narthex! The ornaments contain gift, food, and gift card requests for children of incarcerated parents and for the children's caretakers. If you attend the late service, don't worry that they'll all be gone - ornaments will be replenished after each service this Sunday, Nov. 6. Please return all donations, with the ornament, no later than Nov. 27, and please do not remove the backing from the ornament!

Gospel Gifts for Tots
It is Trinity's desire to teach little children the love of Jesus and so we support a Christian Lutheran day school program.  Our youngest students begin in infancy to see Jesus in the loving care offered through touch and smiles in our New Century Center.  Every Christmas, Trinity church intentionally collects money to purchase Beginner's Bibles for Toddlers and present them to our two year old students.  For a donation of $15.00, we will continue our mission to nurture Christian character and bring children one step closer to Jesus.  There are 60 children in our two-year old classes!  Donation board is hanging in the Narthex.

Thank you!
We'd like to thank all of our parents, students, church members and staff who made this year's Downtown Orlando Pumpkin Patch a great success by volunteering and purchasing your pumpkins from us. Having the pumpkin patch on our Trinity Downtown campus allows the students to have story-times in the pumpkin patch, allows us to connect with our neighbors downtown and creates an opportunity for many to make memories with their children.

We had approximately 45 students, parents, staff and church members who helped unload the pumpkins -- about 551 pumpkins in an hour. We had about 53 who volunteered to help with daily sales! And of course, we could not have done it without the support of the PTL:  Brandi Meyer, Pumpkin Patch Chairperson, Jessica Chan - Marketing, Mary Poole - Decorating, Cindy Wasielewsk- Volunteer Coordinator, Julia Malenke - Daily Clean up and Marcy Shively - Finance. Thank you all so much!

With your help, we were able to sell approximately 400 pumpkins of all shapes and sizes for a grand total of sales of $7,555., which gives us a profit $2,266.50 to put towards our school ministry needs. We appreciate your faithful support of the events and fundraisers that the PTL coordinates and are hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church and School hosts during the year. We look forward to all of the upcoming events and fundraisers, and appreciate your support to help make our school even greater. See you next year at the Downtown Orlando Pumpkin Patch!

Attitude of Gratitude
Trinity Downtown invites you to participate in a 30 day Gratitude Challenge to encourage a daily focus on gratitude through the month of November (and beyond). Focusing on blessings instead of obstacles encourages a habit of gratitude. Communicating that gratitude spreads the blessing to others and encourages them to participate too.
