Congregation Thanksgiving Meal
Save the date on Sunday, November 19th for Trinity's annual Congregation Thanksgiving Meal.  We will gather together in the gym after all worship services (about 12:30) to enjoy a time of Trinity Family Fellowship and a fantastic meal!
Trinity's Food Service Manager, Chef Rich Poole, will coach a team of volunteers to prepare a wonderful meal of turkey, ham, dressing, cranberry gelatin, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, peas and tea, coffee, lemonade, and water.  We ask that guests bring desserts to share - whether cake (Last names A-H), pies (I-Q) or cookies (R-Z)... (or just bring whatever your specialty dessert is - that will work too!).
We need about 20 volunteers to assist with food prep and service. Without YOU the food won't be ready, so please sign up now to let us know we have a full kitchen of support. Go to http://signup.com/go/JxpucDD

Serving Lunch at the SCHOOL Thanksgiving Feast
On Tuesday, November 21, our Trinity Lutheran School students, their families, and school ministry staff gather together during the school day for a Thanksgiving Feast - where about 500 plates are served. Rather than asking parents to help out, we'd like to have the Pastoral Team and the Church family come together to serve our school families so they can sit and enjoy the meal together without worrying about the details. We need about 20 volunteers on that Tuesday, November 21. Please sign up now so that we know we have a full team of support to serve our school ministry families in this way.  THANK YOU!

Confirmands FAMILY LUNCH on NOVEMBER 5th
We invite you to stay for lunch with your child, attend class, and stay for playing games.  We are asking families to bring a dish to share.  FIRST YEAR class bring a main course- sandwiches, salad, cold cuts, veggie choices and SECOND YEAR class please brings chips or a side dish.  Teachers have dessert covered  *we ask that siblings don't attend class- this is a special time just for you and your Confirmand*  If you will need childcare- please let Jenn Blackwood know.  We have a high school girl who would be willing to volunteer her time.

Thank you
Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the Oktoberfest/Reformation event at Trinity - we welcomed hundreds of people to the Trinity campus and had a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship with great music and food, and some Reformation history lessons and appreciation as well!  These open community events are so very important to connecting with those in our surrounding community and extending the reach of our many ministries!  Thanks for being a part of those efforts!

2017 Pumpkin Patch was a Great Success
During this year's Downtown Orlando Pumpkin Patch, Trinity's Parent Teacher League was able to raise money for Trinity Lutheran School "Infants through 8th grade". Our parents, teachers, volunteers, and guests were able to enjoy some cool crisp fall days while strolling through the pumpkin patch. Trinity's PTL was overwhelmed with joy watching families take pictures, seeing kids of all ages playing in the pumpkin patch, and having conversations with many of Trinity's neighbors in the surrounding community. We could not have done it without all of our Trinity Family volunteers and staff at Trinity Downtown. Because of YOUR SUPPORT we were able to raise over $3,000 for the school. We look forward to many more successful events at Trinity.
Thanks you again, Trinity Lutheran School's PTL Board

Your Next Community Outreach Opportunity
Our next community Outreach opportunity for the whole Trinity family will be Friday, December 1, at the "Downtown for the Holidays" Tree Lighting Celebration at Lake Eola. Trinity Downtown is a founding sponsor of this City of Orlando event and will be involved in several ways. Our school students will be singing on the Lake Eola Amphitheater stage during the program, Trinity members will be asked to volunteer to hand out event programs that evening, our Outreach Team will be sponsoring its annual Hot Cocoa and Bake Sale tent, and the Trinity Family will have the opportunity to volunteer to participate in a various interactive CHRISTmas projects with Downtown Orlando guests while they visit our vendor tents and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and good conversation!

Our interactive CHRISTmas project will include two quickly completed give-away items designed to bring the WORD of God into the homes of of our Downtown Orlando neighbors, sent with prayers from our congregation that those simple items will spark a conversation about the true meaning of Christmas in the homes their taken into. One additional, more interactive, project will be included where kids can linger at the tables and build/cut/glue things together, while interacting with a Trinity volunteer who can share the meaning of each component, all centered around the CHRISTmas story -- again, showered with prayer from our Trinity family, that this item will bring the Word of God into homes and spark further conversation. With four adjacent vendor booths, where kids and adults alike can hang out and put together a CHRISTmas gift, we'll have an opportunity to connect with lots of friends and neighbors!  Please mark the date on your calendar.  Sign ups will begin next week!

Trinity Shares Christmas
The Trinity Shares Christmas tree is up!  The ornaments are ready to fly off the tree!  Each ornament contains a gift, food, gift card or donation request, something for everyone. We are again working with Angel Tree Ministries to help incarcerated parents stay in touch with their children by providing gifts in the name of the parent and also by supplying food for a Christmas meal to the children's caretakers.

Please take one or more ornaments to participate in sharing God's love with these families.  If you attend the late service, don't worry that they'll all be gone - ornaments will be replenished after each service this weekend. Please return all donations, with the ornaments, to the cart in the narthex no later than Sunday, Nov. 26, and please do not wrap the presents or remove the backing from the ornaments!  If you have any questions about this program, or if you would like to help with deliveries in December, please contact Glenda Frazier at [email protected].

Childcare Support Needed for the Foundations Class
We're looking for a volunteer to babysit for two kiddos during the Monday evening Foundations class this coming week on Monday, November 6 at 6:30pm.  (6:15-7:45 on campus commitment)  If you're able, please contact the church office at [email protected] or 407-488-1919 x101 and leave a message to let us know by no later than Monday morning at 9am.  Thank you.

First Floor Once-In-A-While Choir
The FFOIAWC is starting up again!  We will practice at 7pm in the middle loggia classroom on Thursday, November 9. If you love to sing but cannot make a weekly commitment or climb the balcony stairs, this is the choir for you.  Come join us!  If you have any questions, please contact Glenda Frazier at [email protected].

Prayer Partners for our Confirmands
Jr. and Sr. Confirmation classes have begun for our youth. We meet two or three Sundays a month for lunch, class time and fellowship time. Deana Norris and Jenn Blackwood are co-teaching Jr class and Tim Norris is teaching the Sr class. There are 17 youth in these two combined classes. Praise God!
We would love to show our kids that their Trinity family loves them and is invested in them by connecting them with a Prayer Partner. A Confirmation Prayer Partner is someone who is an active member at Trinity and will pray daily for a student. You would send a note of prayer and encouragement from time to time and just get to know him/her. We will join together for lunch once or twice this year and of course look forward to First Communion and Confirmation.

We also are looking for someone who would like to host lunch for the group in Fellowship Hall.   Please contact Jenn Blackwood [email protected] if you would like to be involved in confirmation prayer partner or hosting lunch.

Chick-Fil-A Calendars
Chick-fil-A calendars are available to purchase on campus in the church office, CDC office, and K-8 office for $8 each.  The calendars come with a promotional card offering a free food item each month in 2018 (worth about $25-30 total). The funds raised through the sale of these calendars will benefit two groups of young people on our campus, the Grace Notes children's choir (for their performance polo shirts, sheet music and fellowship events) and the 7 & 8th Grade students (for their Washington D.C. class trip). Great for your family or as a gift for someone else!  Thank you for supporting our Trinity kids through your purchase of these calendars.

Coming Up in March:  Touch a Truck, March 3rd - join us to start planning now!
Please support this year's annual Touch-a-Truck by joining the TLS PTL Board on November 9 th at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  This will be our first planning meeting for Touch a Truck.  We will be discussing volunteer opportunities such as marketing, sponsorships, scheduling trucks, and many other functions that go into this event. To make this year's Touch-a-Truck another success, we need to start planning now!  Over the years this event has become a family and community favorite in the Downtown Orlando area and draws thousands to our campus.  Proceeds from this event benefit the ministry of Trinity Lutheran School, infants through 8 th grade.  If you are unable to attend the meeting and are interested in participating on a committee, please contact [email protected].

Free Concerts at Broadway Methodist Church
"Word on Broadway"  is a series of free concerts open to the public. Following each performance, a free will offering will be taken and all proceeds will be donated to a local charitable organization. All performances are on Sunday afternoon at Broadway UMC, corner of Broadway and Amelia, beginning at 4 p.m. and lasting approximately one hour.   Next: Sunday, November 12th at 4:00pm "Gleaning Florida's Fields - Feeding Florida's Hungry" Rollins College Choirs & Soloists Sing of Feed for the Society of St. Andrew.

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to [email protected] .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
