Summer Children's Christian Education
Sunday, May 20, marked the end of our Sunday School year and was recognized with a special interactive Pentecost themed Bible lesson, craft, and yummy snacks. Over the summer, Trinity will be prayerfully seeking new volunteer teaching staff to add to our roster of teachers for both the elementary age classes and for the youth Bible class. Each time a little child is baptized here at Trinity, we make several "We Will" promises regarding our participation in the Christian education of this child.  If God lays this ministry on your heart, please let us know in the weeks ahead.

On Sunday, May 27, we debuted our Sunday Morning Passport Adventure where each weekend, children can pick up a booklet in the narthex, complete the learning activity during worship, and receive a stamp at the end of the service from the ushers in the narthex.  Children can earn prizes for their stamps which will be awarded at the Fall "Rally Day Sunday" after the 2018-2019 school year begins (date TBA). These passport booklets will hopefully encourage our families to worship together while giving the children something to do to help focus their attention on the worship service. If your family visits another church on vacation, please bring in the church bulletin and your child will receive a stamp for that Sunday.

And finally, be sure to sign your rising Kindergarten- rising Sixth Grade child up for our Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus week of VBS, June 18-22. You can find registration forms in the narthex and in both school offices, or online at our website.

Adoption & Foster Care (AFC) Ministry Team
Do you have a heart for God's children? If yes, then we need YOU! We are starting a new human care ministry team at Trinity, the Adoption and Foster Care Ministry Team, and are looking for members to participate and families we can serve!

Which of the categories below do you fit in? In the coming months, we'll be hosting meetings for people in each category.
1) I've adopted or fostered a child (or children).
2) I might be interested in adopting or fostering in the future.
3) I'm not called to foster or adopt, but I know God has called us to serve Him by supporting these children and families in some way.

The first meeting is for those who have adopted/fostered before will be held on June 3 at 12:30 in first loggia classroom (hallway west of the Sanctuary, classroom furthest from the church). Please email Kelley Lane at skyblu@bellsouth.net, with the heading "AFC Ministry Team" and let her know which category you fall under and to RSVP for our first meeting if you have adopted or fostered. If you know anyone else who might be interested - perhaps a neighbor or coworker who has adopted or fostered, please share the news, and give them Kelley's information. We cannot wait to serve the Lord in this manner that's so near and dear to His heart!

Baby Bottle Fundraising for Redeeming Life
The Baby Bottle Fundraising Campaign for Redeeming Life Maternity Home is underway! In celebration of life, Trinity members have the opportunity to partner with Redeeming Life Maternity Home as they reach out to pregnant women in crisis.  Redeeming Life provides critical services to expectant mothers and their unborn children by giving them hope and an opportunity for a bright future.  The maternity home and new transitional home provide residents, some of whom believe that their only option is abortion, a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered home. At Redeeming Life they experience, many for the first time, what it means to love and to be loved in Christ, while learning to support themselves and their child.

It's easy to participate. If you haven't already, just pick up a baby bottle in the Narthex and spend the next few weeks filling it with coins, cash or a check. Bring it back to church on or before Father's Day and know that your generosity is making a huge differenc e for the women and babies being served at Redeeming Life!  Thank you!!

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to Pray@TrinityDowntown.com .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
