Special Voters' Meeting
A special voters' meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 12:30 in the Sanctuary for the purpose of extending a call for a new Senior Pastor

"Goodbye & God Be With You" from Jim and Carol Martin
Our year of working together with you has gone by so quickly.  Add in Pastor Zehnder's 5 months and we all know it's time for God to bless Trinity with its next Senior Pastor. God-willing, the Call Process will come to fruition quickly. The Call Meeting is July 17!  Keep praying!!!
For us, the next month includes spending a couple of weeks in Cleveland, Ohio. We'll see family, check on our home, take care of doctor's appointments, and then get in the camper trailer for some vacation time.  During that time we expect to hear that our next interim assignment has been finalized in Peachtree City, Georgia. The office is empty; the pods are being packed, and it's time to say "Goodbye & God Bless You!"
From Pastor Martin: I thank you sincerely for a wonderful year together - experiencing the joy of worship together with you in all four services; getting a taste of Trinity's future as the New Century Center opened, and the CDC ministry mushroomed; working together with committed staff to begin building a leadership team that will "lead the charge" of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the mission field that comes onto our campus everyday. Think of all those young families with kids wanting to be baptized, needing encouragement to grow in the Lord. Envision Trinity Downtown bringing the Light of Jesus to neighborhoods all around us!
Of course, the best part has been getting to know YOU as brothers and sisters in Christ, and having the assurance that, whether we get to return to Trinity for a visit someday, or we don't see each other until heaven, we will be together again. So, God be with you til we meet again!
PS.   Please, for the sake of the Lord's work at Trinity, be faithful in worship, in
serving, and in financial support.  So much is being planned.  Things will be happening  rapidly at Trinity over the next few weeks.  Be part of it all!

Volunteer Ministry Opportunities   If you don't make it to worship this weekend, look online for a variety of volunteer opportunities for this fall...as we prepare for our next pastor.  We had  over 25 people sign up for a wide variety of things last week.  We've added many more opportunities to the list this week. We'll compile those lists, assign for followup, and then contact you about how you can get involved. Imagine the joy as we work together with our next pastor!!!

In the Interim   We are blessed to have a number of guest preachers in coming weeks...all very familiar with Trinity. You can check with our pastoral staff (Deaconess Liz Borth & Ministry Coordinator Chanda Gillenwater) about pastoral care...visits, baptisms, weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.  Our Circuit Visitor Pastor Ken Greene will also provide support.  Pastor Rick Armstrong will be meeting weekly with our Admin Team to help them coordinate ministries all across our campus, especially as we prepare for the start of fall activities.  God has His hand of blessing over Trinity!

Trinity Welcomes Jenn Blackwood as Youth Ministry Coordinator   Jenn Blackwood  has accepted the position of part-time Youth Ministry Coordinator. We are blessed!  She'll be making plans over the summer that will assure continuity of our middle school, confirmation, junior & senior high youth ministries.  Please give her a warm welcome and say "YES" when she asks for your assistance!

Campus Revitalization Continues!
Loggia Roof Repairs are scheduled to begin on July 11 and will continue through July 20.  Loggia rooms and hallway will be unavailable for use during that time. Thank you for your cooperation. Scheduled

From Ted Lange, President Leadership Council
Pastor Jim & Carol Martin's last official day with us is this Sunday, July 10. Tonight:  Thank you, Goodbye and God Bless You

We are sad to see them leave, but celebrate their time with us  and hold them in prayer as new ministry journeys are ahead! Please join us on Friday, July 8th 5:30-7:30pm in Fellowship Hall and courtyard for an ice cream treat.

Trinity Loves Orlando:  How You Can Support Crisis Care & Outreach

Thrivent Choice Dollar Contributions -- Thrivent will MATCH
Thrivent is deeply saddened about the tragic loss of life that occurred in Orlando on June 12. When heartbreaking events of this magnitude occur, Thrivent members often want to know how they can make a difference. In addition to continuing to hold those affected by this tragedy in our prayers, other opportunities exist to support the victims, their families and their community during this difficult time.  One way eligible Thrivent members can help support efforts is to direct Choice Dollars to organizations working diligently to support the victims and their families - and Trinity is one of those organizations to which you can direct choice dollars. Thrivent will be matching all Choice Dollar directions made to Trinity through Thrivent.com through July 31, 2016.

Personal Donations - Thrivent will MATCH
Anyone who wishes to contribute to this effort with a financial donation can contribute directly to Trinity's Outreach fund.  All personal donations made will be matched by Thrivent through July 31, 2016.   In the coming weeks Trinity will be working with FL/GA District President Greg Walton, and with other LCMS congregations who are directly connected with Disaster victims/survivors, to determine the most effective ways to use the contributions of God's people.

Donations Update:
Donated funds have reached nearly $60,000 from all over the country to support a long term outreach response to the shooting on June 12 in Orlando -- matched by Thrivent, that amount doubles (and the match program continues through July 31).  Trinity representatives and our Orlando area ministry partners will be working together to develop a plan of how to best make use of those funds to support ongoing and new initiatives in keeping with Trinity's mission that reach out and make a difference in the lives of people touched by this tragedy.  If you have a passion for this initiative and would like to be involved, please contact Chanda at [email protected] .

Summer Sunday School
All children ages 4 through 5th grade will meet as a group at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday morning.  The cool church basement music room will be THE place to meet Jesus. Children are encouraged to bring their offering for Trinity's discretionary fund. They lovingly voted last September to "help people who don't have enough food or a place to live", so we will continue directing their gifts for that purpose.  Children will stay in the church basement for parent pickup at 10:30 a.m.

Support our VBS Children's Ministry

VBS Starship Payload Needed
Your annual gift to Trinity's children's outreach ministry is NOW.  Look for a VBS Supply display in the narthex and choose the item you can contribute to our neighborhood and city-wide summer ministry.  If you cannot shop, monetary donations will allow the supply team to shop for you.  Look for the special VBS collection container near the display in the narthex beginning this weekend.  Contact Ken Boggs ( [email protected] ) with questions regarding supplies for kids to fiind A'Bot Jesus!

Pre-Boarding Time is Approaching
Registering early for Vacation Bible School helps the organizers place your child in the proper group and makes first day an easy transition to star travel.  The adventure to five new stars begins every morning July 25-29 right here on Trinity's campus.  Registration forms for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade are on-line NOW!.  Use this link: http://church.trinitydowntown.com/vbs/  If your child is attending Camp Trinity during the week of July 25-29 , NO NEED to fill out a separate registration form. Do you Have a Free Morning?
Any morning July 25-29 you can give a couple of hours to help our Vacation Bible School run smoothly and safely.  We would like to give you a small group to lead through the stars every day.  If you have only one 4 hour morning to spare, your assistance in either the snack, craft, or games station will be highly valued.  There is no daily preparation on your part, but you should plan to attend one of the two pre-flight training session held July 23 and July 24.  Contact Deaconess Liz to volunteer any day, or for every day!   [email protected] or 407-488-1919 X127.

New Job for a Star
OH! And there is just 1 spot left for storytelling.  This job description changed a little so it requires only 1 day of time.  The storyteller is the star guide who introduces the children to one of God's wonderously made body parts: hands, mind, eyes, ears, and heart.  A little "acting" (script provided) with the whole group, and then a small group interaction telling the story.
Contact Deaconess Liz: [email protected] or 407-488-1919 X 127.
