New Sunday Schedule Starts September 12
The congregation voted approval this new schedule PRE-COVID, and now we get to implement it! Praise God! Each week we'll be blessed with both Contemporary and Traditional Worship services, with Sunday School in between! Everyone in worship will have an opportunity for Sunday School / Bible Study either right before or right after their regular worship service! We are relaunching Children and Youth Education ministries on that day as well. We are blessed by the service of our volunteer leaders this year!

  • Children's Sunday School for children 4 years through 5th grade will utilize a curriculum published by Kingdom Quest. Serving this year are Mrs. Desiree Kallesen: 4-5 year olds, Mrs. JoAnne Gueswelle: 1st-2nd grades, and Mrs. Gail Wilkosz: 3rd -5th grades
  • MS and HS Youth Bible Study will begin with a study of Paul, co-lead by Faith Finger and her father Tom Finger, utlizing Right Now Media video study resources.
  • Confirmation Instruction will be co-lead by Pastor Doug Kallese and Mr. Tim Norris, studying from Luther's Small Catechism and various resources.

Changes in Worship Service
  • Kneeling at the rail for communion is now an option
  • Blue attendance cards are back. Please fill out your card each week so we are able to track attendance and follow up with those who are away. This weekend, blue cards can be dropped off into offering plate after worship.
  • This weekend we'll begin to pass the offering plate. It will only be handled by the ushers who will lean into each row to allow for everyone to drop in their offering and blue card.
  • Yellow cards can be filled out with prayer requests. They will be collected during worship by an Elder, prayed over during worship, and added to the Weekly prayer list.

Your Service is Needed!
With an additional Sunday service starting up in September there is a great need for new volunteers to staff the additional serving roles of greeter, reader, acolyte, usher, and soundboard/powerpoint operator. Training and support is provided. Volunteers may only need to serve once a month if enough volunteers sign up. Please contact the assigned volunteer for each area or reach out to the church office at TLC@TrinityDowntown.com. Thank you.

Readers/Greeters: contact Lia Harris at my3c_angels@yahoo.com.
Ushers: call or email Brian at bpaul1@hotmail.com.
PowerPoint/Soundboard, Acolytes: contact Chanda at TLC@TrinityDowntown.com
Elders are scheduled via the Senior Elder

Zip Lines
Connecting with your Trinity family outside of worship and church events is essential! We all need a line of connection to a smaller group of Christian friends with whom we can share our lives, grow in Christ, have some fun, and to encourage one another in personal outreach efforts in our own circles of influence. For that reason, we'd like to connect people living in the same or adjacent zip codes so that you've got multiple nearby church family members with whom to connect throughout the week!

If you'd like serve as your zip code's coordinator, please contact Chanda Gillenwater, Trinity's MInistry & Communication Coordinator. The goal is to connect every person at Trinity with their very own ZIP LINE where they can build those deep relationships.
Child Development Center - Work Day
On Friday, August 6, the CDC closes to children for a teacher workday. During that day, teachers attend meetings and then spend the remainder of the day deep cleaning and reorganizing for the new school year and a new classroom of new students. This is a FANTASTIC time for Trinity members to meet some of our CDC staff , check out Trinity's CDC facility, and donate some service time to help with back to school preparations. Usually, to visit the CDC when children are present, a background screening and preapproval is needed, however, since the kids are away, you can check out the facility and meet some teachers as you help out withe the work day list!! On the volunteer to-do list that day is included:

  • windows, walls and other surfaces cleaned
  • help painting spots where paint has chipped
  • weeding the urban school garden in front of the church office

If you're able to help anytime between 9:30am and 3:00pm please come to the main entrance of the CDC facility (big white columns) and check in there with with Mrs. Colby Veta, our CDC Education Director. THANK YOU!!! (Adults are required to wear masks in the CDC)
Landscaping Update - The Stars and Stripes Award
The final touches are being made this Saturday - and what a wonderful job by all involved!

This project has been planned and executed by Hannah Rickenberg, with American Heritage Girls, who chose Trinity to be the recipient of her service project requirement for conisderation of The Stars & Stripes Award. This award is the highest recognition available to an American Heritage Girl. This award teaches girls perseverance, self-respect, and a strong feeling of satisfaction. In addition to badge work, references, and personal reflection, Stars & Stripes Award Candidates complete a substantial service project, which they plan, lead, and implement. Girls pursuing this award are given the opportunity to exercise servant leadership, project management, communication skills, time management, and organization while blessing their communities in truly amazing ways. Through the process of earning the Stars & Stripes Award, candidates gain a first-hand understanding of the servant’s heart required to lead with integrity and humility, preparing girls for responsibility as they transition to adulthood. (info from their website)

We have certainly been blessed by her efforts! THANK YOU, Hannah! Well done!
Peace Rocks and Kid Power
Peace needs Kid Power! As part of Peace's outreach into the community, we've started painting Peace Rocks and leaving them around the community. The rocks share a fun inspirational message or picture and invite people to visit Peace's Facebook page. Join us Saturday, August 14 at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall. We'll be painting more rocks, plus, everyone will leave with a rock or two to leave behind for someone to find!
You Can Help a First Time Guest - SEND IN PHOTOS
DID YOU KNOW? Most people check out a new church online before ever stepping foot onto a church campus. They read our Trinity Weekly online, read over the pages of our website, look at campus maps, listen to the sermons, check out our Facebook page, browse the YouTube channel, and in all those areas, they see PHOTOS of the life of Trinity. That's why we like to have as many photos as possible from our Trinity family, in all aspects of the life of the Chruch.... so that we can post these in the Trinity Weekly, share on the Website, and use as Marketing material to show others what we're all about and reduce some of that "FIRST TIME GUEST" anxiety. Whether its photos of campus work days, of the choir sining via Zoom, kids in Fridat Comunion, Confirmation Essays, Confirmation classes, Trinity members in a meeting or Bible study group all spaced out with masks on, a group out in the community doing a service project with family and friends. ALL of them tell the story of what it's like to be part of the Trinity Family PLEASE, Send in your photos of Trinity Family moments! Send LOTS! Send to Chanda at TLC@TrinityDowntown.com.
