Food & Funds on the Fifth Collection Next weekend
Once again it is a Food on the Fifth month. Trinity asks members and friends to donate canned and boxed food to share with our community neighbors. This month the recipient is the Christian Service Center. Funds are also collected through the offering plate by designating "Church Discretionary Fund" on the memo line or envelope face. These monies are designated to help people within our congregation and in our community who are in difficult or desperate financial stress.

Senior Safety Summit - Crime Prevention Techniques for Seniors
Two individuals have responded with interest.  We need at least 10 to schedule.  If you'd like to have the Orlando Police Department host a 1.5 hour seminar on safety and crime prevention, please let us know this week. Topics presented include: Prescription Drug Fraud or ID Theft, Crimes Against Seniors, Identifying and Preventing Strokes - taught by Orlando Health, Hands Only CPR, and more.  Please email [email protected] or call 407-488-1919 x101 to let us know if you're interested in participating and/or as a volunteer to host.

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to [email protected] .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.

Invest with LCEF and Save Trinity money!
If you haven't already, please consider opening an LCEF savings account.  The more investors mean the higher the rebate check will be next year.  Savings account investments start as low as $25 for children under 18 and $100 for adults.   If your child is new to Trinity Lutheran School in either the CDC or K-8 programs Trinity will donate $25 to start the account.  Adult investment accounts with LCEF benefit Trinity in the same way the Youth Investor accounts do, so parents and church members, you can participate as well!  You can apply online at LCEF.org .  For more information, please contact Bruce Hahn at 407-701-3234 or email [email protected] .

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.  In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101).  During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers.  For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend call or text us at 407-490-7339 and leave a message.  We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know. Thank you.

Greetings from Deaconess Liz

I have been away from the offices and ministry of Trinity for nearly two months now and immersed into ministry with Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries.  However, having just returned from this year's annual Deaconess Conference in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania, I feel like a lifetime has passed since I've worked and ministered to and with you.

My first day in the office of Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries in Sanford, four years of experience with forms, interview procedures, mistakes and successes was passed on to me in the form much like a shot-gun blast!

Day two, I was handed the full responsibility of our third expectant mom - I am her first "Life Plan Coach".  By the end of my first week, I had connected with the other two residents as their new "Life Plan Coach".  Then I was installed!

That following week a new baby came to live in the house.  I visited a pediatrician for the first time in 35 years at the end of my second week and found it delightful.  I spend one overnight a week and enjoy getting to know the women and their babies better.

We are studying a series I wrote a while back based on Liz Higgins "Bad Girls of the Bible" every Wednesday at dinner time, and we share a Q&A about anything spiritual or scriptural every Sunday over lunch.  The hours pass quickly each day for there is always something to listen to or share with or just encourage with each of the now four women who are living in the maternity home.

This first week of July a fifth woman who is only 10 weeks pregnant has come to find her way to independence, responsibility, forgiveness and merciful life in Christ.  The little baby boy, Aiden, born on my installation Sunday, was washed in baptismal waters along with his mother on July 2.  This is the highlight of our ministry.

I am thankful for all that God has done to prepare me for this amazing opportunity to see new life and peace come over women who were living in doubt, darkness and fear.  I miss the very busy and diversified ministries I shared with you all at Trinity, but my position now is truly a God-directed position.

There is not yet much opportunity for personal social interaction with Christian men and women, so I am happily continuing to gather with the Trinity women who meet monthly for Chick Flicks, Dinner and a Movie.  Hopefully, I will be involved with the Seminole County IDignity event too.  Some of our residents have found this organization (founded by Trinity and other churches in Downtown Orlando) to be a gift of encouragement.  Once again, I see how God has prepared me for His work.

God is with us all, and He has plans for us that are not to hurt us but keep us close to Him.  He is an amazing God!

Blessings and love to you all, Deaconess Liz
