Ring-A-Lings Needed!
You might not have realized it, but the Handbell Choir is one of the most enjoyable volunteer groups at Trinity! Because of varying work and travel schedules, we would like to add a few more people to this friendly, music-loving group so that we can ring at services more often. Would you like to be a Ring-A-Ling? Free handbell lessons will be offered throughout July and August - contact Glenda at whitemice@bellsouth.net to schedule some ringing time or to ask questions about this program.

Missionary Visit July 27-28
Rev. Shauen Trump with be visiting us the weekend of July 27-28 during all services and he hopes to drop in on the 9:30 Bible study as well. Rev. Shauen and Krista Trump serve with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Africa, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

As the LCMS area director for Eastern and Southern Africa, Shauen works with other LCMS personnel serving in these regions of Africa and builds relationships with the leaders of partner churches. He also implements strategies, projects, programs and grants for roughly half the African continent, from Ethiopia to South Africa. Some of the largest and smallest Lutheran churches in the world are in this area, along with literally thousands of languages and cultures. Krista works part time as the Africa region project coordinator, an unofficial logistics coordinator for various events, a hostess and an enduring and gracious wife and mother.

Shauen was born in northern California and grew up in the Seattle area. He earned a bachelor's degree
in electrical engineering from Seattle Pacific University and received his Master of Divinity from Concordia
Seminary, St. Louis. Shauen enjoys spending time with his wife, playing monster truck show with his children and buying books that he never has time to read. Krista spent her early childhood in Liberia where her family served with Lutheran Bible Translators. She holds a bachelor's degree in Christian outreach from Concordia University, St. Paul, St. Paul, Minn., and a bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Louis University. Krista previously served through the LCMS in Slovakia from 2003 to 2005. She enjoys baking, buying new kitchen toys, spending time on the coast of Kenya and buying books that she never has time to read. Shauen and Krista have four wonderful boys - Josiah, Elijah, Isaiah and Jeremiah - who join them on the mission field.

Pray for the Trumps as they serve throughout this substantial area of Africa. Pray they are used to encourage and build up the church in this part of the world. Ask that they be strengthened and given wisdom and discernment to navigate the relationships they have formed and the cultures in which they live and serve.

It's Time for Campus Clean Up
Being good stewards of the good gifts God gives us is part of our daily life as Christians. An example of this stewardship is all the folks who share their time and talent to keep Trinity's campus tidy and attractive. We have folks who sneak in here or there to weed flower beds, or regulars who water all the potted plants, people who pick up trash or trim trees, and more.  THANK YOU, ALL. Your contributions make a meaningful impact on campus care. And then a couple of times a year, including every Fall just before school starts, we pull together a group of good stewards to for a morning of weeding, trimming, and cleaning to get a lot done at once (Many hands make light work!). So please join us on Saturday, August 3 , from 8:30-11:30am (8:30am because it's cooler then). Thanks in advance for your participation!  (HS students who come out to work can earn community service hours too.)

Food Trucks, Fellowship, and Worship
You're invited to the CDC Back to School Open House on Saturday, August 10. Join our CDC families in the courtyard (gym for AC) after they finish the "Meet the Teacher" portion of their Open House. In the courtyard you'll find Food Trucks from 4-6pm, where everyone can have a meal before attending worship at 6pm. During the worship service we will bless backpacks and diaper bags, and dedicate our CDC teachers for the new school year!  We would love to have a good showing of our Church families to spend some time in fellowship with our CDC families and encourage more connections between the whole Trinity family in one place. Please join us!

Blessing of the Backpacks
Blessing of the Backpacks and dedication of all teachers for the new school year continues this year on both Saturday and Sunday worship services August 10-11. Join us for a Back-to-School focused worship service, bring your backpack to be blessed, and get a special backpack tag from your Trinity family.

Transportation to Church - 1.3 mile drive
We have a request from a local neighbor asking if there is someone from Trinity who could drive her to and from the 11am service on Sundays so that she can participate in a worship service. Her apartment is 1.3 miles from Trinity, or an 8 minute drive. If you are able to serve in this way please contact Chanda at 407-488-1919 x101 or TLC@TrinityDowntown.com .

July-August Cash Flow Issues
First, we would like to thank everyone who participated in our recently completed Stewardship Drive. The response was great!

There is one issue, however, that still needs to be addressed and that is having enough cash on hand to pay our bills in July and August.  While our annual budget accounts for the expenses we expect to incur in the upcoming fiscal year it does not and can not ensure that our receipt of funds will be realized at the same time as our bills fall due. This year we will be experiencing a cash-flow crunch during the months of July and August due to employee benefit plan payments coming due the first week of July and the month of August being a three pay-period month.

If anyone has the ability to pre-pay a portion of their regular annual contribution to Trinity it would greatly help us get through these next two months. This is not a request for anyone to increase their annual giving, but rather to contribute donations that you plan on giving later in the year in the next week or two to help us match our receipt of revenues with the dates our bills fall due. Ideally these pre-payments would be made prior to the beginning of the new fiscal year, that begins July 1 st .  However, any extra payments that you can make during the months of July and August will be a great help.

Thank you for your consideration and for being part of the Trinity Family's ongoing efforts to minister to our flock and spread His word throughout the Downtown Orlando area.

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.  In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101). During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers.  For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend call or text us at 407-490-7339 and leave a message. We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know.  Thank you.

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to Pray@TrinityDowntown.com .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
