Family Fun Night
Trinity's next Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, July 15, from 6:30pm-8:30pm. All ages from young to old are welcome to join in on some fun and games, whether board games or card games. The main event for the night is bingo with prizes that include nostalgia candy, "a blast from the past," and gift cards from various locations.

The Fellowship and Outreach team will be providing Mexican cuisine. Attendees are asked to bring a dessert. A free-will offering will be taken to help cover operating expenses as well as for the Pastor's Discretionary Fund.

This month will also include a themed basket on display for a raffle drawing by the name "Gardening Galore." So bring your $1 bills and play your heart out! Baskets change each month, but the purpose remains the same: to raise money to purchase gazebos for the courtyard.

Please contact the church office with any questions.
Peace Shares
Peace has a special request as we celebrate her birthday and ministry anniversary.

Peace's groomer - All Creatures Pet Grooming - continues to take in pets that need to find new homes. Their generous and loving nature saves dogs and cats that otherwise might be put down.

Peace wants to help them! Peace and team are collecting dog and cat food, treats and toys - any flavor, any brand - to help support their efforts. In addition, they can also use old towels and blankets.
All Creatures Pet Grooming has been very generous to Peace, donating their time and services to provide free grooming every month. That's why Peace is so anxious to help them and give back.

Please bring any donations and leave it in the narthex in Peace's box. If money is easier, you can give cash or check to Paul Soost, Peace's Top Dog. Checks should be made out to Trinity Lutheran Church with Peace Shares written on the memo line. Please bring all donations by Sunday, July 31.

Please help Peace give back to All Creatures Pet Grooming as they find new homes for dogs and cats in need. Thank you!
Operation Christmas Child "Christmas in July"
The amazing journey of an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Gift begins with you and results in evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication.

Trinity Downtown is supporting this Samaritan's Purse ministry by collecting items for Operation Christmas child shoeboxes through the month of July. Shoebox gifts suggestions include small toys, non-liquid hygiene items, and school supplies for children aged 2 through 14. We also need your support in covering the cost of shipping the shoeboxes. Collection baskets will be in the Narthex and a packing party will be held on July 23rd from 9am-12pm.

For additional information about most needed donations visit https://www.samaritanspurse.org/occ or contact Lynn Hogan at lynnhogan@earthlink.net.

Thinking of You Baskets
Everyone likes to receive gifts, young and old alike! Trinity has several members that are home bound and unable to make it to any services. On July 23rd from 9am-12pm, the Fellowship/Outreach Ministry Team will be putting together "warm hugs" in a basket. Items such as a Bible, daily devotionals, Trinity pens, tissue packets, miniature wooden crosses, etc. will be packaged together and delivered to these individuals. If you are interested, a donation would be appreciated to cover the cost of the materials for the baskets.
LWML Quilters Update
The LWML quilters currently meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 9:15am-12:30pm in the downstairs kitchen in the back of the Magnolia Street Building. Generally, 6-7 quilters are present and they are always willing to accept more hands! Church members have donated two sewing machines available in the room if you would like to join and do not own your own machine. Additionally, old sheets and cotton material are still needed; contact Mary Lou at 407-491-4452 if you have some supplies you would like to donate.

The quilters are planning a display of quilts in the church the first weekend in October, which is considered LWML Sunday. Finished quilts will be transported to the designated Orlando Zone Church the first week in February 2023. Looking ahead, two strong, young people will be needed to help with the boxing, weighing, and labeling of the quilts that week.

LWML also continues to use the mites collected in the small mite boxes and dropped in the large mite box on the East side of the front of the church. The coins are used entirely for the grants issued biannually and chosen by LWML delegate votes for various missions in the USA and the world.
Campus Workday
The next campus workday will be held on July 30 from 8am-12pm. The focus of this day will be to clean up the campus grounds.

The Properties Ministry team is looking for individuals who would like to serve in the following ways:
  • Periodically working to maintain the new plantings in the front of the sanctuary (includes trimming, weeding, and insuring that irrigation is working correctly)
  • Someone with concrete experience and knowledge to advise and possibly assist in the restoration of the short cement walls on the East and West sides of campus.

If you have any interest in being involved or would like more information, please contact the church office at TLC@TrinityDowntown.com or call 407.488.1919.
Food and Funds on the Fifth Sunday
As always, on any fifth Sunday of a month, we will be collecting food donations for a local food pantry (dry and canned goods only, not expired) and funds for the Pastor's discretionary fund assisting those dealing with immediate financial emergencies. Bring in those dollars and BOGOs on July 31! Thank you.

The Wasmunds are back in the states for a furlough visit and will be at Trinity the weekend of July 30 and 31!
