The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has been involved in mission and outreach since 1851, when it established its first mission board. Today, the LCMS trains, sends and supports called and appointed career, long-term and short-term missionaries throughout the United States and in various countries around the world where there are mission stations, partner churches, schools or mission relationships.  To learn more about what missionaries do check out the LCMS website.
Trinity has “adopted” five missionary families whom we support financially, spiritually through prayer, and personally through correspondence via news updates and sending cards at holidays/birthdays.

Wasmund family in East Asia

Trump family in Kenya

Clausing family in Kenya

Lehman family in Spain

Young family in Ethiopia

You can be a part of that personal correspondence and connection through our Missionary Connections Ministry Team, which involves a one year commitment to keep up with one missionary family’s news, send personal correspondence for birthdays and holidays and let the Trinity family know about any special opportunities to partner with that missionary family.  If you’re interested, please let us know by emailing TLC@TrinityDowntown.com.

To keep up-to-date on the work of our adopted missionary families, connect to Trinity’s missionary page on the website.  There you will find links to bios, blogs, and Facebook pages – which include regular updates from our missionaries. Or you can click on the photo links provided here for the most recent updates from all five families.

Please keep these families in your prayers regularly!  And be sure to let us know if you’d like to be part of the Missionary Connections Ministry Team.
